Mimic Him!

Small kids love to mimic and imitate what you say and do! They try just about everything!  They raise their eyebrows, purse their lips, grin and laugh. They are like small sponges in a sea of experiences waiting to absorb the next move. That receptivity is what God intended; it is how we are all pre-wired. We all imitate and soak up what’s around us. It’s how we learn. It’s GREAT to imitate BUT we must be careful! Our ‘Noggin-Brand’ (brain) computer stores EVERYTHING!
Many people today are unaware that they are imitating the world, a show on TV, the news or a magazine story.  The influence is subtle. The scripture tells us that we are to be imitators of God and follow His example of love.  We are inundated with the world so we must bathe our minds with Christian influence (devotionals). The Bible says: "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God" (Ephesians 5:1-2, NIV).

Is there something in your life YOU want to change?  Change what you are imitating; change your focus. The more you focus on the world, the more you will imitate it. The more you focus on the WORD, the more you will imitate it! Try it NOW—imitate this: bow your head, clasp your hands, and close your eyes.  Be like a kid, absorb it. Be like an adult, control it. ~Pray
